In My Make Up Bag!
I know I’m a fashion blogger and all, but I’m also a massive product junkie – I can’t go into Boots without purchasing some kind of beauty related item, and my room has begun to resemble a make up counter. With that in mind, I thought I would be chuck in something a little new to the blog, and that’s a look inside my over-stuffed make up bag! I’m seen as a little OTT by many friends in my make up process, because it involves a LOT of products. Let’s just say I’m not one for ‘embracing my natural beauty’. HELL TO THE NO. Chuck it all on. That’s not to say that we all need this much make up ladies, it’s just that I need a little extra help. Especially in the mornings.
I know that I’m no make up expert, anyone who sees my hap-hazard application process can attest to this, but I thought I would share my favourite products with you because I feel like I’ve found my dream make up selection at the moment!
I start with a cheeky dab of Soap and Glory’s ‘You Won’t Believe Your Eyes’ under my eyes. It’s good for bags under the eye, from which I suffer deeply. Then I chuck on some Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, which is amazing if you’ve got a long day ahead. I swear by my Clinique Perfectly Real foundation. Basically I am super duper extremely pale, and I always used to struggle to find the right tone, until I discovered Clinique. This foundation costs a little more than your high street brands, but the coverage is amazing and that tiny pot lasts me about two-three months, which is IDEAL because I use it every single day. Then I use Rimmel concealer Wake Up, which is the best concealer I have EVER used. It’s great under the eyes and also if you’ve got the odd blemish.
THEN I use Bobbi Brown sheer pressed powder, again in some ridiculously pale tone. This powder is fab and you only need the odd touch up throughout the day. Plus it comes with a compact mirror, which is a must. I use a Bobbi Brown brush which was a little more expensive than I would usually pay but it’s a fantastic brush for powder. I use Benefit High Beam on my cheeks which adds a nice sheen and a little extra definition, and then over this (god knows if that’s right or not) I pop on some Benefit Sugarbomb blusher. It’s a really divine peachy pink tone and it comes with a handy wee brush. DELISH.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a big BIG fan of eye make up. MORE IS MORE IS MORE. I am completely and utterly obsessed in a huge, slightly excessive way, with my Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick. This thing is THE SHIT LEGIT. Too many capitals going on right now. But basically if you’re rubbish with eye make up like I am (shaky hands much?) then this is great, because it’s an eyeshadow stick for your eyes. And all you do is pop it on, smudge it in a bit, and then you have gorgeous sparkly eyes all day long. Over this I put on Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Liner, which again lasts all day long, or longer, and is great if you like a heavy eye, like me. Then I use the amazing L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. I’ve tried other mascaras and I always end up going back to this one. Oh, also, just in case I haven’t concealed enough, this Topshop Eye Brighten is fab.
I am the champion of the Clinique Chubby Stick. It’s the truth. This is my favouritest lip product, because I always freak out that lipstick is going to dry out my lips – Chubby Sticks are super moisturising. my latest purchase was Two Ton Tomato, a delightful red colour that is great for daytime use. My other favourite is Grandest Grape, which is the dark colour that you see me wearing in a lot of my blog photos.
WOAH this blog post had a lot of words in it, didn’t it? Sorry for those of you who just check in to see photos of me trying to pull mysterious faces. Anyway like I said, I’m not trying to be a make up expert or anything, I just thought I would share with you my must-haves right now!
